Me and my boyfriend are trying to find a good place to find an engagement ring that is affordable but still good quality. We now live in the charlotte area, so if anyone has a suggestion, I would really appreciate it.

try overstock.com or your local craig’s list. i’ve looked on craig’s list just out of curiosity (i already have a ring) and there is actually some good ones on there that people really want to get rid of for rather cheap…just make sure you get the papers with them!
good luck!
Try Kay Jewelers, they have beautiful rings. They have stores just about everywhere go online to find where one is in Charlotte area.
You could check department stores that sell real jewelry such as Walmart, Macey’s Ect, you can also check Peoples Jewelers
Diamond Brokers of Florida:
http://www.dbof.com
They have beautiful diamonds. You can check their inventory out. They can ship to an independent appraiser for you to look at and then you can decide whether to go for it or not.
Great prices too.

I know it sounds lame, but KMart! They have a good selection of rings and they are usually having sales with up to 70% off!!
My brother bought his fiance’s ring there and you would never even guess it was from Kmart.
At least check it out!

kay jewelers , thats were i got mine, you can up grade your ring if you really wanted to . and they are so nice there
Check out buyz.com.. I’ve bought from them before and they are legit…and I’ve been looking lately and they’ve had some gorgeous rings for cheap!
Online: http://www.bluenile.com or any jewelry mart store. As long as you know what you are looking for, you can find a deal. Right now is a buyer’s market.
If you do your research and find a local reputable jeweler, you can get a good deal.
Honestly, I would suggest you go to a site, like bluenile, and learn all about the 4 C’s, then go to jamesallen.com, into the "design your own ring" link, and see what prices the rings you’d like are running for, and what kind of rings your budget can get you…
THEN go to Sam’s Club (or Costco) and take a look at the rings they have there… (If you don’t have a membership, tell them you want to look at jewelry first before you purchase the membership— later, if you do get the ring there, you could always get your membership fee refunded)
Ask to see the rings you like, (they will ask for your Photo ID for security reasons) look at them closely to see if any inclusions are clearly visible, and ask to see the diamond’s certificate (most of the engagement rings there come with certificates). The prices at Sam’s are for a "Guaranteed Quality of at least" whatever is listed on the price tag, but the quality could some times be a lot better for the ring they have in stock…
My hubby got my ring there, and paid for a diamond of "at least" .71 carats, i color, i1 clarity, and good cut, but ACTAULLY got .86 carats, E color, Very good cut, and i1 clarity (the inclusion is actually hidden under a prong, so it’s not even visible unless you closely look for it)
I LOVE MY RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every jeweler that’s seen it (when I get it cleaned, sized, etc) comments on the really good quality of the ring…
So, that’s my best advice for you…
Good luck!!!!!
If you have Satellite TV, go to The Jewelry Channel. I have two channels for JTV: 86 and 227. Yours may be different. Or you can go to your computer and type JTV.Com. JTV is THE largest gemstone and jewelry company in the world. I have purchased many items, and never once disappointed!! Let me know how things went? Steven
My husband and I bought my rings at JCPenney. The engagement ring and wedding band came in a set, and it was only $1200! They have a lot of really neat rings for a lot cheaper than some places. Mine is white gold with a center princess cut stone and 5 side stones.
